Privacy and your data

What the form sends

Sending the form passes on your name, at least one contact of your choice and what you wrote: the place concerned, what should change, the page that shows it and your connection to the place. The address and language of the page you sent it from travel with it. One field is hidden from people and serves only to catch automated spam.

How messages are kept and used

Messages are stored by a form service and read together at the next revision of the directory. They are used to check and apply what you reported and for nothing else. A reply is sent only if you ask for one. Names and contacts are never published, sold or handed to the clubs, libraries or organizers concerned; a published correction describes the change, not the person who sent it.

Counting visits

Visits are counted by a script served from this site’s own domain. It sets no cookie and does not follow anyone to other sites. For each page view it records the page, the page you came from, and the browser, type of device and country taken from the request; these are read only as totals.

No outside code

The site loads no advertising, social media or other third-party tracking code, and no outside fonts, map tiles or images. A link to a source or a map takes you to another website with its own rules. The company that hosts these pages handles technical data, IP addresses included, only as far as serving the pages requires.

Deleting a message

To have an earlier message deleted, write again through the form with the same name and contact and say which message should go. It is removed from the form service the next time messages are read. A confirmation is sent only if you ask for one and leave a contact.
