Chess clubs in Bogotá 8

Clubs in Bogotá show up mostly through the events they hold. Kallpa, in La Castellana, runs a league, knock-out tournaments and a children’s festival at its seat on Carrera 49. Excalibur, on Carrera 101 in the west of the city, gives its Sunday, Saturday and Tuesday rapids names of their own and has hosted the district league’s championships. Mentes Brillantes has played at a site in Santa Helena, and Club Lasker, on Carrera Séptima, is known only from a radio report of 2023.

Two social clubs, El Nogal and Los Lagartos, hold chess tournaments that their listings call invitational, and neither says who may enter; El Nogal keeps separate editions for children and for adults. Beyond the city line, Club Copa Real plays classical tournaments at the Ventura Terreros mall in Soacha, one of them for the Día del Ajedrez in July 2026, and Torre Activa has held a training tournament in Facatativá, whose listing names only the town.
