About this list
Children have a few clear ways into chess in and around Bogotá. Club de Ajedrez Kallpa in La Castellana holds a children’s festival, its fourth edition dated September 2026. Two public libraries run clubs that take young players: Arborizadora Alta in Ciudad Bolívar, whose own page aims its club at children and young people, and CEFE Cometas in Suba, whose club is for teenagers; both are free.
For competition, the Cundinamarca circuit sets age sections from under-6 to under-16 at its Soacha stop and children’s sections in Tocancipá, and Cajicá hosts departmental championships by age group. These are tournament days rather than weekly classes, but they are where young players of the Sabana meet one another.
