Courses and academies in Bogotá 4
About this list
Teaching is the quietest part of chess in Bogotá. Academia F.I.C.M, based in Cedritos on Calle 142, runs tournaments, some with Club Chaturanga, in malls around the city and children’s festivals in Funza; its branch in Cajicá plays at the Centro Cultural Romanus. Neither site has put a class timetable or a price where it can be read.
The Universidad Externado lists a chess course and a chess selection team in its timetable for the second semester of 2026, and the Colegio Andino, the German school of Bogotá, offers a course for beginner and intermediate pupils in its after-school program, proposed for Thursday afternoons. Outside these walls, the free library clubs and the age sections of the Cundinamarca circuit are the open doors for a beginner.
